The National Forest Teaching School (NFTS) is an alliance of secondary, primary and special schools spanning a wide geographical area from Derby and Burton on Trent through to Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield. Our schools operate in a variety of different contexts but share a common belief in the power of collaboration to bring about continuous school improvement in our local area.
Do you have what it takes to teach?

The National Forest Teaching School at John Taylor High School offers the School Direct route into teaching. School Direct is an exciting and innovative one year school led training programme, which enables schools to take a leading role in ITT but still work in partnership with accredited providers. We work collaboratively on the selection and recruitment of trainees as well as the design and delivery of an outstanding programme. Our School Direct programme is a one year full time route into teaching which will enable successful trainees to achieve QTS with a Post Graduate Certificate of Education, or QTS with Masters level credits.
