Welcome
TO CHASE TERRACE ACADEMY
Dear Colleague,
Thank you for your interest in working at Chase Terrace Academy. We are proud of our reputation as a warm and community focused school and building strong relationships with staff and students is key to our success.
As a school community, we work together with families to achieve the best possible outcomes for all students. Success may look different for each of our children, but whatever the goal, the ambition is the same. All students have the same opportunities within our curriculum and wider curriculum areas. Our Duke of Edinburgh programme and our strong sports offer are established and successful examples of the way we place great value on giving students the opportunities to build personal skills such as confidence and perseverance.
Our school is highly focused on achieving strong academic and personal outcomes for all students through rigorous challenge and support, resulting in excellent progression into higher education, employment and training and enhancing work and life prospects.
We are an 11-18 school of around 1350 students set in the outskirts of Cannock Chase in Burntwood, Staffordshire. As a new member of the JTMAT, we are keen to play an active role in the work of the trust, and we already have strong links to the John Taylor Teaching School Hub. Our CPD provision for staff is well established and carefully planned to deliver on school and JTMAT strategic priorities. We have clear vision for teaching and learning and staff work hard to provide rich and engaging opportunities for our staff and students. We have worked hard to produce a comprehensive and career stage development programme for staff in collaboration with SSAT and we already play an active role in the JTMAT CPD offer.
The school also has a vibrant and successful Sixth Form which supports students in achieving their Post-16 and Post-18 ambitions. As well as a strong and broad curriculum with high quality teaching at its core, Sixth Form students at Chase Terrace Academy are able to undertake a range of enrichment activities and work experience in order to develop a wider skill set.
Chase Terrace Academy joined the John Taylor Multi-Academy Trust in April 2022. We are extremely excited at the opportunities that our collaboration with JTMAT will bring to our students, staff, to us as a school and to our wider community. JTMAT believes ‘in the power of education to improve lives – and the world’, and this aligns with our mission to ignite the aspiration of all our students and members of our community to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
I look forward to welcoming you to our school.
